Pricing starts at $15,999

LiveWire is expected to launch its new S2 Alpinista on January 15, but it looks like someone working on its official website got a bit overzealous, briefly publishing the announcement on Friday. The page is no longer publicly accessible, but bits and pieces of it still appear in Google search results including the first official picture.

Based on that initial photo, we can see the Alpinista looks like a combination of its S2 siblings, the Del Mar and Mulholland. The bodywork appears to be similar to the Del Mar’s, but the headlight looks identical to the Mulholland’s. The handlebars also appear similar to the Mulholland’s, including the bar-end mirrors, but it’s mounted to a much lower riser than on the S2MH.

Snippets in search results confirm our earlier reporting that the Alpinista will be equipped with 17-inch wheels, front and rear. LiveWire describes the Alpinista as its “first sport standard, equipped with 17” wheels and tires, blending the best of street, sport, and hyper-tourer characteristics.” By comparison, the Mulholland runs on a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear while the Del Mar uses 19-inch wheels on either end. Due to the smaller wheels, LiveWire says the Alpinista's seat height is 1.1 inches shorter than the Del Mar, which should mean the S2AP measures 31.1 inches from the ground.

Sharing the same S2 Arrow architecture as the Mulholland and Del Mar, the Alpinista claims the same peak output of 84 hp and 194 lb-ft. Claiming a weight of 434 pounds, LiveWire says the Alpinista has a 0-60 mph time of 3.0 seconds. The 10.5 kWh battery pack offers a claimed range of 120 miles of city riding and 71 miles on the highway.

Pricing starts at $15,999, which is $250 less expensive than the Del Mar and $500 less than the Mulholland.

We’ll have further information in a few days when the 2025 LiveWire S2 Alpinista is officially announced.

Electric motorcycles are just not commercially viable...if they were going to catch on it already would have happened.

The EV weight-to-range calculation sort of makes sense on a 4000lb automobile, but it makes no sense at all on motorcycles. Not to mention you'd need to ride 50,000 miles before emissions would offset the dirty EV manufacturing process, which is pretty difficult to accomplish in 71 mile increments.

This would probably sell ok, but still not great, if it was $5k cheaper
